Website update: 22/02/2019

It’s been a week since the new website went live and since the launch we have seen nearly 250,000 users amassing just under half a million page views. As expected, the peak traffic this week came just after launch with more than 6,500 users on the site between 6pm and 7pm on Friday 15 February.

 

We have taken all of the user feedback we have received so far and either implemented almost-immediate changes or updates, which users will be able to see, or taken it forward for further review in future. Work continues on bigger development pieces, and general questions and queries are being handled as quickly as possible to help members through any problems or issues.

Below is the most recent update on development that has been undertaken or common issues or questions that we have seen since the launch:

TRAINING

The area of training courses, and searching for courses has caused several challenges, since not all the data around courses and bookings migrated across successfully to the new website. A lot of work is being undertaken with the IT team and the Regional Development Officers, to get these issues sorted out as soon as possible. Some enhancements on data and searching will be visible to users across the weekend and further work planned for next week.

EVENT PAGES

Event profile information has now also been updated across the fixtures and results page. We will continue to refine information on these pages.

OPTIMUM BROWSERS

Although the new website works across a range of platforms, if you are using a PC/Android or Laptop the best browser to use is Chrome or Firefox, followed by Edge on Windows 10. Due to Internet Explorer no longer being supported by Microsoft, we recommend using another browser if you are accessing the site on PC/Android or Laptop.

OWNERS DISPLAYING ON HORSE SEARCH FUNCTION

Improvements have been made to how owners display against horse records, however work is ongoing as we continue to refine this data.

LOGGING IN

The new website uses the email address associated to your BE account and the password used on the previous website. If you are getting the notification ‘Email not recognised’ or are having any problems signing in, please email support@britisheventing.com with your full name and membership number, and Log In in the subject line.

EVENT SCHEDULES

We are currently working through the issues with some online event schedules displaying incorrect information, and ask members to please check the schedule pages of the British Eventing Life magazine for the most accurate information on events, or with the event directly via their own website and communication channels.

PURCHASING HORSE SEASON TICKETS AND MY ACCOUNT

For full details on horses and to purchase season passes please navigate through the ‘my account’ tab and not through ‘my profile’. The ‘my profile’ section is public and will not have your horse’s complete details.

GROUP MEMBER HORSE SEASON TICKET PURCHASE

If you are trying to purchase a Horse Season Ticket as the admin for a group membership (i.e. Syndicate/Joint Owner) you may get the error message to say that your membership is not valid. This is an issue we are aware of and a fix is being implemented as soon as possible. If you are still experiencing the issue after the weekend, please contact the office to make the purchase over the phone.

ENTRIES

To help us deal with questions regarding entries as efficiently as possible, please email support@britisheventing.com with the EVENT NAME in the subject line of the email.

BALLOT NUMBERS

We are no longer using ballot numbers; instead each horse has a Ballot per month plus two super Ballots for the full season. These are not visible under your horse’s account. If you are entering via the BE website you will just need to select from the drop down menu within the entry process that shows the available ballots for the horse being entered.

If you are entering on BDWP you will need to select Ballot or Super Ballot under the Special Options field, and then in the Notes Box type the month relating to the ballot sticker (i.e. March Ballot or April Ballot) or Super Ballot if you would like to use your super ballot.

FIXTURES LIST VIEW ON MOBILE

We are aware that the fixtures list requires users to swipe across to view all of the information available, it has been flagged as an area to modify and will be looked at as soon as possible.

PAST ACTIVITIES

The historic training and volunteering activities, which are currently not available to view, are features that will be added in the future.

BREEDING

A project to improve horse genealogy is ongoing for the new website but in the meantime we will seek to reinstate the Dam and Sire information.
