Calver Wealth Management gears up for 2* League

After a successful launch year, Burgham International (1) in Northumberland is getting ready to host the first points scoring 2* competition of the 2016 Calver Wealth Management 2* League, previously known as the Future Two Star League.

Under new title sponsors Calver Wealth Management, a representative of St. James’s Place Wealth Management – long-time supporters of Barbury International Horse Trials , the 2* league is designed to recognise leading young horses competing at CIC2* and CCI2* level in the UK.

Jo Calver, a Wealth Management Consultant for Calver Wealth Management commented on the new development: “We have really enjoyed being a part of a sport which many of us follow or have a personal involvement with.

“Working with BE means that we are able to put back in to the sport by supporting an important pathway up the ladder for young horses in to top level equestrian sport, offering Equestrian Specialist Financial Advice to riders and owners to help them build strong financial foundations to build their businesses on.”

The inaugural League title went to Olympian Daisy Berkeley who won the point accumulating competition with Fred and Penny Barker’s Irish-bred gelding, Strike Smartly. Daisy commented on the League: “Aiming for this League has been a great benefit to him, as well as offering a substantial prize to myself and his extremely supportive owners.”

As with the 2015 League, this year’s Calver Wealth Management 2* League winning rider will receive a bursary of £5000 to share with the owners of their winning ride; the owners will also be the recipients of a trophy as a proud memento of their horse’s achievement.
