BE80(T) Coaches
Body

BE80(T) competitors form a significant part of British Eventing’s member base. As many will be new to the sport, it is vital that they receive support and training when participating in BE affiliated events. BE80(T) coaches are present at every event in the season that is holding a BE80(T) class, providing support for competitors in the form of coaching, course walks and advice.

British Eventing have created a handy guide designed to give advice to first time coaches and to complement experienced coaches on event. This can be found here.

BE80(T) coaches have been a fantastic source of support to many grassroots riders. Newcomer to eventing Katherine Chilvers commented on the BE80(T) series:

“This is my daughter's first year in BE and she is loving it and learning so much. All the events we have attended have been well organised and really friendly. We didn't quite know what to expect and were a little nervous/intimidated to start with, but BE has exceeded our expectations and all of us are enjoying the season so far.

“The Coaches for the BE80 classes at the events have all been fantastic. We met Coaches for the first time at Swalcliffe Park when they gave Ellie great advice prior to the show jumping and cross country phases. Again, at Broadway and Sapey the Coaches were superb: I was not well at the time and unable to go with Ellie to those events so we nearly withdrew, but because of the presence of the coaches, she had the confidence to go with her non-horsey Dad (who, despite his expectations, had a great time at Sapey) and with a friend to Broadway.

“We felt confident to let her do that because we knew she could ask for technical help from the Coaches whilst her Dad and our friends were there to help with the practical side of things and also have overall responsibility for her.

“The Coaches have provided real reassurance to her - and to us at the events. A really great supportive add on for new comers like us. I'm looking forwards to watching later in the season and hopefully learning from listening to them.”
