Last year was our first u18 camp and we had some brilliant feedback, we are all hoping to make 2017 even better! It is a fabulous opportunity to work with all three u18 coaches at 2 great venues, learn lots, make friends and have fun!

The days are suitable for ALL levels of experience and ambition.  Anyone aiming for Frickley is encouraged to make every effort to attend.

We are planning 2 ridden sessions in groups of 3 or 4 for about 1 hour each.

Warming up with one of our coaches and then riding a test of your own choice, (long arena also available for Frickley hopefuls!) After discussing it with the judge you will be asked to re ride all or parts of the test. PLEASE STATE WHICH TEST YOU WANT TO RIDE ON YOUR BOOKING FORM.

Everyone will take a turn writing and sitting with the dressage judge, seeing a test from the judges “hot seat” is an eye opening experience!

The jumping session will be indoors. A full course of show jumps will be available and we will also include some “skinnies”, corners and lines.

SUZI LAW from Top Spec is attending along with her scales. I am planning for everyone to have 15 minutes timetabled on an individual basis. Take your horse and let her assess their condition, fitness, feeding and any issues you want to ask her about.

Fitness and nutrition are also vital for a rider to maximise performance so we have LAUREN from EQUESTRIAN 24 FITNESS coming to make you all work! Working in groups Lauren will show you why fitness matters to you and your horse. Please bring suitable clothing for falling off large bouncy balls! At lunchtime she will discuss nutrition and hydration and how much it matters to maximise performance in every aspect of life. Lauren works with all the Horsescotland riders and makes the session great fun.

The Agnew family are very kindly making the fabulous cross-country course at HENDERSYDE available for cross-country schooling. Hendersyde is 20 miles from ISEC. This is a fabulous opportunity to school round the home of the Scottish 90, 100 and Novice Championships. A new 80 course is also being built.

Speed awareness will be included during this day.

Groups of approx. 4-5 for 1 1/2 hours.

  • Trainer

All three of our u18 coaches – Olivia Wilmot, David Gatherer and Sue Hendry. They have all ridden at 4* level. Livi has represented GB on pony, Junior and Young rider teams. David was “Coach of the year” 2015, Sue not only coaches riders but also life skills and is also a very busy dressage judge.

All 3 are easy to understand, very enthusiastic and passionately want to help you all, whatever your level of experience or ambition. All 3 are hoping to be at Frickley to help our teams.

Suzi Law from Top Spec and Lauren from Equestrian 24 Fitness are attending to help you and your horse with fitness and nutrition.
