    All home nations are now under lockdown restrictions across the United Kingdom, with the exception of some offshore islands. Across the four countries, the message is to ‘stay at home’ and only go out for essential reasons such as work that cannot be done from home, healthcare, education and exercise.

    BE update following new national restrictions

    On Monday 4 January, the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, announced a new national lockdown in England, and First Minister of Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon, tighter restrictions in Scotland, to counter the steep rise in coronavirus (Covid-19) infections. We have every confidence that the equestrian community will pull together to play its part once more during these challenging times.

    In memoriam: Barry Wookey

    British Eventing was very sad to learn of the passing of Barry Wookey. Barry organised the Rushall Horse Trials from 1970 and, along with his wife, was a keen horse owner.

    Brexit: Status of UK studbooks confirmed

    The EU has confirmed that it will recognise all UK studbooks once the post-Brexit transition period comes to an end on 31 December. This means that horses with a studbook passport can be considered as registered equines and will not need an additional UK Government-issued ID document in order to travel to the EU.
