Team Gold for Saracen Horse Feeds Young Rider European Squad with individual silver and bronze

An incredible finish to the European Championships in Maarsbergen for the Saracen Horse Feeds Young Rider Team who take home team gold, along with individual silver and bronze.

First up for the British team was Phoebe Locke and her own and Kate and Allen Powell’s Union Fortunus who lead the team by example, producing the first clear round of the day inside the time, completing the event in 33rd place. Next in the arena was Felicity Collins with Vicky Collins and Avrina Milton’s Contend Or who had an unfortunate four faults to add to their overall score finishing on 47.5, in 15th position overall.

Rosa Onslow went next, riding as an individual, on Cindy Onslow’s Diamond Sundance. The duo performed a very smart round, not adding any penalties to their score of 45.3 to be placed in a respectable 12th place. Next up for the British team was Richard Coney riding his own Kananaskis, after a masterclass performance they also went clear inside the time to place 7th individually on a score of 37.6.

Heidi Coy was the penultimate British rider on her own Royal Fury. It was a nail biting moment with the top five scores being so close but Heidi rode a beautiful clear to bump herself into the medals, earning herself individual bronze on a score of 32.6. Last to go for the British squad was Bubby Upton with Rachel Upton’s Cola III who not only flew round with a perfect clear round but also won the silver medal, finishing on a highly respectable score of 25.9.

The top three teams were Great Britain, France and the Netherlands. The British team led by 4.1 points to France and over 60 points to the Netherlands - a feat to be very proud of.
