Sixth place in France for GBR Nations Cup team

The British team took sixth place at the French leg of the FEI Nations Cup this weekend, with individual rider, David Doel, securing second place on Gillian Jonas’ Galileo Nieuwmoed.

 

The British team of Kirsty Johnston, Imogen Murray, Zara Tindall and David Doel completed on a team score of 175.6 penalties for sixth place, as France took the maximum points following their winning team score of 124.9.

Individually in the CCIO4*-S class at Le Grand Complet, Kirsty Johnston claimed third place on John Johnston and Carole Somers’ 10 year old mare Classic VI, after completing on their dressage score of  34.4. On his individual ride, Galileo Nieuwmoed, David Doel impressed with their score of 33.3 penalties to take second place just 1.4 penalties behind the winner, Karim Florent Laghoua for France.

Imogen Murray also had a good weekend claiming sixth place on M S Team and Aivar Ward’s 12 year old gelding Ivar Gooden, finishing on their dressage score of 36.3. David’s second ride and team horse, Ian and Jane James’ 12 year old mare Eisfee, sadly picked up 60 cross country penalties to finish down the order in 55th place, and following an early stop on cross country, team mate Zara Tindall and Gleadhill House Stud Ltd’s 10 year old gelding Class Affair, retired on course.
