The final dressage scores are in after the second day of competition at the European Championships in Maarsbergen. The Saracen Horse Feeds Young Rider Team currently sits in third going into the cross country day.
Yesterday, Felicity Collins started for the team with Vicky Collins and Avrina Milton’s Contend Or. After a successful test, Felicity scored 32.3, leaving her in 24th place going into the next phase. Heidi Coy rode out second as an individual, to perform a lovely test with a score of 32.6 placing 26th overall. The final rider yesterday for the Young Riders was Phoebe Locke, with her own and Kate and Allen Powell’s Union Fortunus. After a strong test she was awarded 32.7, placing her in 27th.
Today began with Rosa Onslow riding Cindy Onslow’s Diamond Sundance in their debut performance for Team GBR. They finished on a very respectable score of 33.3 to place 33rd going into the cross-country phase. Next up we had Richard Coney riding his own Kananaskis, they rode a fantastic test to land themselves in 9th with a score of 28.8. Finally, the last team GB rider to go was Bubby Upton with Rachel Upton’s Cola III who pulled out a great performance to score 25.9, placing 4th overall.
This leads us into a nail biting day of cross-country, with team GB sitting only 11 points between the leaders, Germany, and 7.2 points behind France, it is all still to play for.
