New layout for Smiths Lawn Horse Trials

With Smiths Lawn Horse Trials just around the corner, we take a look at the exciting developments ahead of 5 - 6 August 2019.

The Guards Polo Club are in the exciting process of extending the polo pitches and over the winter moved the road across Smiths Lawn so that the whole of Smiths Lawn will be polo pitches.

The main showground, dressage and show jumping will be in a new position on Smiths Lawn on ground looked after by the Guards Polo Club and there will no longer be any areas unwatered. The cross country, designed by Nigel Taylor and built by Andrew Hunter, which moved to a new area in 2013, will remain in the same, private area of the beautiful park running on Smiths Lawn and behind Cumberland Lodge.

Smiths Lawn Horse Trials runs on the site of one of the oldest horse trials in England, Windsor Horse Trials having begun here in 1956. The entrance to the event will continue to be via Blacknest Gate entrance to the Park. Tissie Reason said "We are very grateful to Cathean Ltd for continuing their sponsorship of the BE100 Owner/Rider section on the Tuesday and we will also continue to have the Novice Owner/Rider section on the Monday."

Smiths Lawn runs from 5 - 6 August 2019. Find out more HERE.
