Glamis Castle wins Scottish Event of the Year
Glamis Castle Country Fair and Horse Trials was a new addition to the BE calendar for 2019, but beat off stiff competition to win the coveted Scottish Event of the Year title at the BE Scotland Ball on Saturday 9th November.
Assistant Organiser, Thomas Helyer, was at the awards dinner at Airth Castle to collect the trophy. Tom said “I am absolutely stunned to be collecting this award in our first year – there’s now a lot to live up to in 2020! We have a great team and it is testament to their hard work that we have won this – and with more than half of the total votes – I am absolutely delighted – and a huge thank you to everyone who voted for us.”
The event itself had some great feedback from competitors for its grand stage feel – giving grassroots riders the chance to compete in such a beautiful setting. Competitor-friendly touches, such as free stabling, all helped to make the event really special and the team are already hard at work on making the 2020 event even bigger and better.
