Frenchfield (1) Entries Open

Entries for Frenchfield (1), Cumbria, 1-2 May are open with classes running from BE90 to Open Novice.

Looking ahead to Frenchfield (1) on the 1-2 May, this fixture should provide a superb opportunity for many Northern and Scottish BE members to get their season underway.

With Novice, BE100, BE90 and BE Under 18 Novice and Under 18 BE90 classes, this is the first of five events from Cumbria Horse Trials for the 2021 season all of which offer highly accessible grassroots competitions.

Frenchfield of course has sandy going on permanent pasture and runs across undulating farmland on the edge of Penrith. There is excellent viewing for owners and the bonus of wonderful views across to the Lake District.

The venue offers flowing terrain with banks, ditches, spreads, hedges, walls, water and steps, so there is a considerable variety of obstacles to enjoy.

There will be relatively limited spaces to conform with BE protocols and so making entries between opening date on 6th April and Ballot date on 13th April will be essential.  Small sectioning will once again benefit those keen to win points and prizes and prize money will be awarded along with rosettes to 6th place.

John Collier will provide a substantial show jumping track and whilst the dressage is secluded and the arenas are relatively flat the collecting area is fairly compact.

To follow our progress creating a set of new cross country fences and to see ground conditions in the run up to the event you can follow the event on and on the Facebook and Instagram feeds along with @cumbriaeventing on Twitter.

Thank you to all the volunteers who’ve already made the commitment to support the Cumbrian events and the sport.

Frenchfield lies just 3 miles from Junction 40, M6 giving easy travel and reach from Cheshire, Yorkshire, Central Scotland, the Borders and Northumberland.

Kindly enter in good time and let us see your progress heading for the event, whether in training, fitness or practice sessions.
