Final Keysoe British Eventing fixture of 2019 fast upon us

The Devoucoux Saddles Keysoe Horse Trials is rapidly approaching, marking the final British Eventing fixture of 2019 for the Bedfordshire venue.

Entries still remain open for the three-day fixture, with classes ranging from BE80(T) to Open Intermediate, including qualifiers for the 4-year-old and 5-year-old championships.

Irish Olympian Austin O’Connor made a first visit to the venue in July and is quick to return to the August fixture with entries in Friday’s Intermediate and Novice.

“I’m not sure why I’ve never been before” commented Austin in July. “The layout makes it really easy to run multiple horses, the surfaces for the dressage and Showjumping are great and the cross-country has ridden really well.  It is definitely a venue I’ll be coming back to!”

The Keysoe team have invested much time, effort and over £500,000 over the past 18-months to further develop the facilities at the venue.  The cross-country course now benefits from sports drainage, and both international arenas have been resurfaced.

“It is our aim to keep re-investing, keep developing the facilities and upping our game on all fronts.  We’re very proud to be offering international fixtures in all three major disciplines from 2020 and are working hard to deliver on the promises we have made.” Owner and event director Simon Bates.

French Sellier Devoucoux take on the title sponsorship of the August fixture, as part of a three-year multi-discipline sponsorship agreement with the venue.  Other sponsors include Kurasyn 360x, part of the TRM offering, Equine Construction, Spillers and Keysoe’s insurance partner, Shearwater Insurance.
