Charles Owen Ponies perform on day one of the FEI European Championships for Ponies.

The Charles Owen Pony Team set off on their FEI European Championships campaign in Strzegom today, producing some smart tests to sit them in team second ahead of tomorrow’s second day of dressage.

Two team riders and one individual competed in today’s dressage phase, with Freya Partridge first to take to the stage, kicking off the competition with her own Master Macky , producing a test of 33.4 and sitting them in individual 6th ahead of tomorrow’s dressage.

Ibble Watson and Erica Watson’s Bookhamlodge Pennylane were second to go for the team and produced a super test, awarding them a score of 30.3, close behind the day one leader Daniel Haver from the Netherlands.  

Xanthe de Wesselow and Laura de Wesselow’s Baramona Lass competed individually and produced a test of 34.5 sitting them in 10th place individually.

The dressage phase continues tomorrow and the Charles Owen European Squad’s times are as follows:

Friday 16th August (BST)

7.28am - Finn Healy and Ellie Healy’s Midnight Dancer*

8.47am - Amelia Ludiman and Tynan Mist

9.08am - Daisy Bathe and Georgina Herrling’s Stallion SF Detroit*
