Countdown to Frenchfield (1) Horse Trials!
With entries open for Frenchfield (1) Horse Trials on 27 and 28 April, Organiser, Douglas Weymouth, shares the latest update on their preparations:
“The first of five Cumbrian horse trials for 2019 gets underway in less than a fortnight, with the AW Jenkinson Forest Products Frenchfield (1) on 27 and 28 April. The five courses from BE80(T) to Novice are now all set and will be inspected in the coming days by British Eventing officials and then dressed to be as inviting as possible.
“The going is sandy and if the dry weather continues the BE Aerovator is on site to make it perfect. The newly added Novice track will make good use of the naturally undulating terrain with some 27 efforts included in the 2600m course while the BE80(T) and BE90 tracks will run to a shorter 1900m with some 22 efforts. Frenchfield enjoys some remarkable viewing and offers owners and spectators a wonderfully elevated site for watching the cross country.
“Organisers Douglas and Lucinda Weymouth very much welcome the return of Santa Rita Wines and Horslyx as sponsors of the BE100 and BE90 classes for the entire season ahead and, to Maiden Marine, Top Spec and Equine Products UK for generously supporting the BE80(T) sections. Now into its 11th season, the Robinson Udale Chartered Accountants Cumbria Riders Challenge is again up for grabs along with the Lakes Free Range Co. Junior title. Spaces remain available across all the classes and all further entries are requested before Friday 19th on www.bdwp.co.uk/ff1.”
