Collett Leads the Way at Les 5 Etoiles de Pau

At the end of the dressage phase at Les 5 Etoiles de Pau, France, Great Britain’s Laura Collett takes over at the top of the leaderboard with London 52.

Day two of dressage at the 5* competition saw Laura produce another stunning test on her second ride, London 52, owned by Karen Bartlett, Keith Scott and herself, to score a table topping 21.3 penalties and head into the cross country phase in first place.

Laura’s performance pushed yesterday’s leader, Australia’s Christopher Burton and Graf Liberty (22.0 pen), down to second place and Piggy March completes the top three with John and Chloe Perry and Alison Swinburn’s Brookfield Inocent on 22.2.

Ros Canter and Zenshera drop only a couple of places from their overnight position of third to fifth place after New Zealand’s Tim Price scored 23 penalties today on Wesko to claim fourth place.

Also taking to the arena today for GB were the experienced combination of Alexander Bragg and Mr and Mrs Ellicott’s Zagreb. They duo didn’t disappoint scoring 24.9 penalties to hold seventh place.

Following her test yesterday on her own Charly Van Ter Heiden, Mollie Summerland heads out onto her first 5* cross country in eighth place with a score of 25.5, while Laura’s first ride, Louise Scott, Lyn How, Keith Scott, Nick How and her own Mr Bass, round off the top ten with a score of 26.2.
