British Eventing and EquiRatings to introduce exciting new metrics in 2020

BE is excited to announce that it is working with sports data analytics company, EquiRatings, on the introduction of some simple metrics for all BE members.

It is intended that the new metrics system will be rolled over the end of this year and into early 2020, and will offer riders key statistics analysed from their BE competition record. Members will then be able to compare their metrics to track their own performances, highlight their achievements and identify the key areas to focus their training.

The statistics will be available to riders competing at BE80(T) all the way up through to 5*, demonstrating the importance and commitment from BE to support and promote riders at all levels. The advances made in data quality, and the changes to the IT systems over the last few years mean that we are now able to open up new opportunities and offer further unique benefit to members.

The new metrics will build on the existing partnership between BE and EquiRatings, established in 2017 with the introduction of the pioneering safety tracking system, the EquiRatings Quality Index (ERQI)

British Eventing Chief Executive Jude Matthews commented; “We are delighted to build on the existing work that we have carried out with EquiRatings in order to bring even more value and benefit to our members. Being able to analyse our data in a meaningful way to help riders assess key performance related metrics will add additional value, and provide new insights into performance for our members.  This is a really exciting new development for BE and we are delighted to be working more closely with EquiRatings."

Further information will be released in due course.
