A positive forecast for The Cooke Coachbuilders Stafford Horse Trials

It has been a busy start to the 2020 season for the Stafford Horse Trials team with lots of work going into the ground ahead of the first event! The team have been really pleased with how the park has coped with the recent weather, and its position has meant that the location has been fortunate enough not to suffer from any flooding and that it is open to good drying winds.

The dressage field was prepared with great care with a McConnels Shakeraerator at the end of the 2019 season to reduce compaction and aid drainage, and recently this area has also been rolled with a set of Cambridge rollers to ensure a smooth surface without sealing the top to water. The team have also been working hard to optimize the site for adverse conditions, selecting a new location for the showjumping arena, and siting the cross country warm up on flat area on top of a ridge. The cross country course is all in position, and BE100 competitors will find a couple of new fences on track.

The team are extremely positive for a great event with a change in the weather forecast due and a relatively dry spell predicted for the 10 to 14 days before hand. Stafford’s wonderful team of volunteers are all ready for action and there are an array of new exciting sponsors on board for 2020.
