Registering Horses with Prefixes

Izzy Taylor - Briarlands MatildaOn the 1st March 2015, British Eventing introduced a new rule meaning that horses can soon be registered under a name with a prefix.

One purpose of this exciting development is so that riders and Owners are able to give further benefits for existing sponsors or attract new ones in to the sport.

A company, or anyone else wishing to add a Prefix/Suffix to a horse, who is not the registered Owner of a BE registered horse, but whose name is used for the prefix/suffix simply needs to take out a Supporter Company Membership from just £25.00 online by Direct Debit per year.

Alternatively if a Member already has a current membership (other than a Day Pass Membership or an Associate Registration) they can also apply to have a suffix added.

Download the Prefix/Suffix application form.

  • The cost of registering a prefix/suffix is £100. Please note, if the horse is sold, the new Owner must also pay £100 to keep the prefix/suffix.
  • To remove a suffix/prefix costs £15.
  • This application applies for National competitions only.
