Under 18 Programme

Under 18 2016 Frickley

What is the BE Under 18 Programme?
The BE Under 18 Programme runs alongside the 12 – 21 Training Programme giving riders a series of training and competitive opportunities for those who are aiming for the BE Under 18 Regional Team Championships, hosted at Frickley Park in July.

Do I need to register?

Every Under 18 member is encouraged to register onto the Under 18 Programme. Registration is free and you do not need to be competing at BE100 or Novice level to be eligible to register. Registering on an Under 18 Programme ensures you will receive communications relating to Under 18 and 12-21 activities and events.

To attended regional BE training, you do not need to be registered on an Under 18 Programme, as the training is open to all levels for member and non-members. Training with BE is designed to be fun, supportive and help riders to achieve their future goals.

Please note…

If a rider has multiple horses, each combination will need to be registered onto the programme.

A new registration for each combination will need to be completed for the level the rider wishes to compete at.

If you wish to compete in the BE Under 18 classes, and be eligible for the BE Under 18 Regional Team Championships, you will need to register on the appropriate programme (either BE100Ou18 and/or ONu18 in your region).

Registration will allow you to compete in BE100Ou18 and/or ONu18 classes in your region, the results from which the Regional Under 18 Coordinators use when selecting their teams for the BE Under 18 Regional Team Championships, where regional teams compete at BE100 and CCI1* level.

I would like to register, which Programme is right for me?

  • Riders who would like to compete at BE100Ou18 classes and aim for The National Saddle Centre BE100Ou18 Regional Team Championship will need to register for the BE100Ou18 Programme – find out more about the programme HERE.
  • The Open Novice Under 18 Programme is for those looking to compete at Novice under 18 (ONu18) classes and aim for the ONu18 Regional Team Championship, run at CCI1* level – find out more about the programme HERE.

Don't forget minimum eligibility requirements for BE100 and Novice level apply to Under 18 classes as per the BE Members' Handbook

Which region am I in?

The country is divided into eight regions, each of which has an Under 18 Regional Coordinator who is your first point of contact. If you live on the border of two regions you can opt for the Region in which you compete most frequently.

Each Region also has two or three dedicated Under 18 BE Accredited Coaches who deliver quality training for all riders at all levels, click here to read more about the current regional training opportunities in your area. Please refer to the regional map at the bottom of this page.

ase note the recent 12-21/Under 18 Regional Changes for North Wales & West Midlands and South Wales & Central
As a result of a restructure within the Under 18 Programme regions, with immediate effect the Under 18 and 12-21 regions of North Wales & West Midlands will become Wales & West Midlands; the South Wales & Central region will become Central.

The new region of Wales and West Midlands will now incorporate the area of South Wales and bordering counties to the West of the M5 motorway.

The Central Region will remain the same with the boundary of the region to the East of the M5 motorway.

Find out more about the change here.
