BE Annual General Meeting 2017

The minutes from the 2017 BE AGM, hosted on Friday 29th September at the Osberton International Horse Trials and BE KBIS Young Horse Championships, can now be downloaded HERE.

The AGM opened by congratulating the British European Championship teams on their successes this summer before moving on to an overview of the British Equestrian Federation Governance strategy and structure.

A review was given on the IT Transformation Project to update on its progress and current status, together with British Eventing’s financial reports for 2016 and 2017.

Jane Peters was voted by the members on to the BE Board of Directors. Jane has been involved in eventing for over 20 years, organising and mentoring eventing teams for her local Pony Club branch, before moving on to become their DC. Jane has been on the organising committee of her local BE event for 15 years undertaking several voluntary roles. She has been part of the BE Under 18 Programme since 2002 (then known as JRN), becoming Chairman of the Programme in 2010.

On her election, Jane said; “It feels great to be elected, I spoke to loads of people over the last month and got lots of feedback, there’s lots of interesting ideas going around, especially at grassroots level. I represent under 18 level anyway so going forward I’m looking forward to my first Board meeting; I think I can bring something to the Board that they’re not well represented with at the moment with under 18’s and Training & Education, particularly of riders and coaching and also for the amateurs and the grassroots riders. Looking forward to it!"
