How to Start Eventing

For many riders, taking the step into affiliated competition is a daunting hurdle. British Eventing aims to make starting affiliated eventing as stress-free as possible, and have put together a set of comprehensive guidelines containing all the information you may possibly need to make the decision to affiliate, allowing you to see what's involved in an event, what the requirements are for different levels and what you need to do to prepare.

One of the best ways to prepare for an event is to train with a BE accredited coach. Click here to browse available courses in your region.

BE has also produced 'Expert Guides' for each phase of evening, with advice and guidance from top riders in all three disciplines, including Laura Bechtolsheimer, Oliver Townend and Geoff Billington. These can be downloaded on the right of this page.
