Britain's Senior Eventing teams are one of the most successful teams in the world in terms of World, European and Olympic medals won.


In 2012 the Senior team GB clinched Team Silver at the 2012 London Olympic Games adding to their impressive medal record.


There are two levels within Seniors: 
 

              CIC** Team - a Championship for riders aged 18 and over who have not competed above 3* level

       and:

                    British Senior Team for riders aged over 21 representing Britain at European, Worlds & Olympic Championships

Senior Team Fast Facts

  • There are three Championships for Seniors on a four year cycle - Europeans, Olympics and World Championships
     
  • The Olympics is the longest running having first hosted a Three Day Event in 1912 
     
  • The Europeans started in 1953 with the first World Championship in 1966
     
  • Over 100 medals have been won in 98 years of competition including 55 golds
     
  • Senior Riders are entitled to wear a RED Union Jack badge on thier jackets when they've represented the country
     
  • Since the Olympics at Sydney in 2000, the riders have also been allocated hat numbers - similar to Cricket players - to mark their place in the history of selection
