SEA YIN Ref. No. 11182

Posted 21.02.18

'Yin' has been with us since 2014 when she arrived here with her rider 17yr old Carlos Bernardos Ramos, who had produced her himself as a teenager. They had qualified and been selected for the Spanish Team to train with us and compete ( Yin at the age of 7!) at the Junior European Championships at Bishop Burton. She jumped clear cross country, and Carlos stayed with us for the season of 2015, competing successfully with Yin at Novice level and CCI1*.

Carlos returned to Spain in September 2015, and Yin was sold to a 13 year old pupil of ours, Hal Andersen, who within 10 days of Carlos’ departure had two very respectable results at BE90 !
Through 2016/2017 when Hal has been at school in London, or abroad with his parents, Janou has ridden Yin in competition when Hal has been unable to. In 2016 with Nui she placed in BE 100 Open classes 1st at Port Elliot, 2nd at Dauntsey, and 4th at Aldon 3 Day Event. Hal has steadily moved up the grades with Yin when here , and in 2017 after another win at 100 open with Nui at Bicton Hal and Yin completed 7 qualifying results for CCI1*, placing at Sapey ON U18 (5th) and 3rd at Treborough Novice. Together they jumped clear in the time at Aldon CCI1* achieving a FEI qualifying score. Hal was still only 15. Yin has not had a cross country jumping penalty since May 2015 - when she and Carlos had a jockey error “glance off”

Recently in two BS shows has had one win and one second palce. Jumping BS through the winters of 2015/16 and 2016/17 Yin had 13 placings, 3 wins and 8 other top 6 places with Hal and Nui aboard approx.. 50% each up to 1.05 classes. 3 double clears 2015/16, and 5 double clears 2016/17. Through both winters and with both riders Yin has been hard to beat in Arena Eventing – quick, brave and careful.

Yin is a joy to work with in every way, sadly for sale as Hal has decided to put horses on the “back burner” at the moment to concentrate on his accademic studies, hence no rider in the family. She has been a wonderful schoolmistress for two teenage boys, and I am sure will do the same job for her next jockey!
