Dodson & Horrell Novice Championship 

Oliver Townend wins Novice at Festival of British Eventing

The newly sponsored Dodson & Horrell Novice Championship is held each year at Gatcombe Park as part of The Festival of British Eventing.

Novice Regional Finals are the qualifying classes for this Championship and are held throughout the country each year. Successful horse and rider combinations flock to this prestigious venue each Summer.

Who can compete in the Novice Championship?

Eligible Grade 3 or 4 horses that have qualified at a Novice Regional Final are invited to come and compete at the Championships. The top 25% of eligible starters at each Regional Final will go through to the Championship.

What level is the Novice Championship held at?

The Novice Championship is run over an Intermediate course – a maximum of 1.15m
