British Young Rider Squad

Young RidersThe Askham Bryan College Young Rider Programme

The main aim of the Young Rider programme is to select a squad to represent Great Britain at the Young Rider European Championships. Young Riders is for those in the year of their 19th to 21st Birthday and the Championship is held at Two Star level.

Secondly the Young Rider selectors are seeking talented riders for the future, to help and encourage them through to the top level in order to widen the choice of candidates available for selection for the Senior Team.

Although the Programme has the purpose of producing medal winners it is also about education and having fun. There is great camaraderie within the programme and this assists the learning curve that riders go through.

More about the Askham Bryan College Young Rider Programme

Whilst the European championships will represent the peak for the chosen squad, it is hoped that everyone else will aim for the National Under 21 Championships held at Houghton International.  Every effort will be made for all who participate in the programme to gain from the education and the competition and to have fun whilst doing so.
