Important changes for new under 18 members

Due to updates to data protection, new members aged under 18 years of age will now require a parent or guardian to first provide consent for them to become a member of British Eventing. This is because we will be sending communications directly to the young member and we need permission from parents or guardians to do so.

The changes do not impact on current under 18 BE members and is only relevant to new membership registrations who will need to undertake the new consent procedure.

Steps to giving parental consent:

  • Any parent or guardian who does not already have a BE Membership or Associate Registration will first need to create a free Associate Registration. Those who do have Membership or an Associate Registration will need their username and password to log in to their BE account
  • Log in to My Details
  • Go to Update Details
  • Under Parental Consents select the ‘Add Child’ link
  • You will then be prompted to add the name, date of birth and email address of the under 18 wishing to become a member
  • Once this has been confirmed the membership can then be taken out for the consented under 18

If you have any questions regarding Parental Consent please contact the office on 02476698857 or email info@britisheventing.com.
