Job Opportunity - Regional Development Officer (RDO) for the Northern Region

British Eventing currently have a vacancy for a Regional Development Officer (RDO) for the Northern Region. The ideal candidate will have a good level of education, able to communicate at all levels, be self-motivated and possess excellent interpersonal, organisational and administrative skills. Knowledge of our sport and event or training planning and management would be advantageous.

The role is part time (2 days (14 hours flexible) and home based.

Resources provided: Phone, clothing, support from BE Office.

The main responsibilities include (this list is not exhaustive):


  • Being a representative for British Eventing (BE) Training & Education (T&E) in the region, being available as a point of contact for training related activities, and working closely with the Regional Committees and BE head office to coordinate, promote and support BE training activities.
  • Work closely with the members of the committees in their region to implement a suitable offering of training based on the views and interests of all stakeholders involved in Eventing in the region.
  • Ensure that all training activities in the region support delivery of BE’s
  • Strategic Plan by providing good communications and administrative support to the Regional Team Members and communication with other BE staff.
  • Organise, attend and act as budget holder for regional training committee meetings, ensuring effective monitoring, timely reporting and delivery on budget, according to BE’s financial regulations.
  • Work with the Regional Coordinator to promote the on-going development of British Eventing in the region through training activities, to coordinate & promote evaluate and increase participation in BE Training in the region as a stepping stone for non-members to compete, and in the long term, become BE Members.
  • Be available as a point of contact for training attendees in the region, answering queries in a timely fashion and communicating relevant information or changes to attendees to ensure the smooth delivery of all training activity.
