Job vacancy: Commercial & Marketing Coordinator

British Eventing (BE), the National Governing Body for the sport of eventing in the UK is looking for a Commercial and Marketing Coordinator to join the team in Abbey Park, Warwickshire on a full-time basis. This is an opportunity to get involved in helping shape and grow British Eventing’s commercial activity as part of the Commercial and Marketing team.

The Commercial and Marketing Coordinator will support in generating new commercial leads, putting together sponsorship assets, assist in drafting contracts as well as supporting the marketing team with general campaign planning and execution.  You will be working as part of a small team responsible for crafting and delivering regular, effective and measured communications whether by email, mail, web, social media or magazine. Furthermore you will be heavily involved in the development and delivery of a new CMS system over the next twelve months.

The ideal candidate will be highly organised, passionate about communications, have excellent customer service skills and excellent attention to detail. Equestrian knowledge is preferable but not essential. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acting as a day to day point of contact for British Eventing's sponsors and partners
  • Coordination and activation of sponsorship agreements,  such as arranging on event branding,  advertising space and social media, website and editorial coverage to ensure the fulfilment of contractual agreements
  • Coordination of the Marketing & Commercial committee meetings, including booking venues, taking minutes etc.
  • Helping to develop British Eventing’s existing and potential sponsors and partnerships
  • Monitor and report on sponsorship activity
  •  Support the projects within the Commercial Strategy
  • Be the main point of contact for queries relating to British Eventing’s online shop
  • Manage the administration of British Eventing’s ‘Horses for sale’ website
  • Update content to the new British Eventing website – launch planned in 2018.
  • On-event presence to include tradestand work, mainly at Mitsubishi Motors Badminton, Land Rover Burghley, SsangYong Blenheim Horse Trials and at The Festival of British Eventing at Gatcombe.


The Person:

  • Excellent maths and written English skills, good PC understanding including MS word, excel, outlook, ability to learn and operate relevant IT tools and procedural systems
  • Previously worked in a time critical environment, able to multi-task, prioritise workload and to achieve deadlines
  • Honesty, reliability, enthusiasm, attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability and willingness to learn new concepts, skills and techniques
  • Ability to clearly communicate using different mediums
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and be self-motivated
  • A “can do” approach to work and the satisfaction of customers’ requirements
  • Experience of working with databases and procedures

Location: Abbey Park, Warwickshire

Hours: Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm. Some weekend work required.
