Job vacancy - British Eventing Training & Education

British Eventing Under 18 Chairperson.

The role of Under 18 Chairperson is very broad and encompasses a wide portfolio. The following outlines the key responsibilities, but will need regular reviewing as new initiatives develop.

 

 

 

1. General Duties

  • To act as British Eventing Under 18 representative Nationally.
  • To be principle point of contact in relation to all u18 matters for u18 Regional Coordinators/Assistants/Coaches, BE staff and officials.
  • Liaise between u18 officials and with BE staff and officials to develop and deliver the u18 programme including matters relating to rules, registrations, entries, qualifications, discipline/incident reporting and safeguarding.
  • Manage the u18 budget, working closely with the BE accounts executive and BE T & E Manager
  • Chair a minimum of two u18 meetings per annum and present a monthly report to the chairman of T&E.
  • Attend all T&E meetings or when unable to attend in person appoint a substitute u18 Regional Coordinator to attend.
  • Work closely with the National Coach and Chairperson of Junior selectors concerning u18 rider development, including inviting a group of younger u18 riders to travel internationally after the U18 Regional Team Championships, as part of an International Development squad.
  • Responsibility for the administration and issue of all u18 rider Exemptions in Exceptional Circumstances up to CCI1* and liaise with Chairman of Juniors and Ponies when necessary to discuss issuing ‘Exemptions’ for pony riders and 2*.
  • To lead on the advertisement, recruitment, interview and appointment process for vacant positions in u18Regional Coordinators, Assistants and u18 Coaches. Liaise closely with the BE staff and regional officials and National Coach to ensure the very best candidates are appointed.

 

2. U18 Classes

  • Work with u18 regional officials to plan and develop a suitable competition structure to be supported by the u18 regional training
  • Organise and Chef the u18 International trip for the development squad, to include CIC1* and CIC2*. Work with the U18 National Coach to appoint u18 coaches to support this squad and if necessary extra Chef help from u18 Regional Coordinators.

 

3. U18 Regional Team Championships

  • Liaise with the BE office to update and keep current the selection policy on an annual basis. Oversee the selection of regional squads using the selection policy working closely with the u18RCs.
  • Work with the organising team at the selected venue to help develop and deliver a suitable competition for the u18 Team Championships annually.
  • Attend the Championships in a supporting role and in preparation of the event, liaise closely between the u18 regional officials and the organisers to facilitate an effective communication and efficient management situation.
  • To be fully conversant with the BE Safeguarding Policy and ensure that all those involved in the programme adhere to it.

 

4. Training

 

  • Keep a working knowledge of all u18 and 12-21 training being planned and delivered regionally.
  • Work closely with the all Regional Development Officerss, u18 regional officials and the T & E Manager, to ensure the best most efficient delivery and pricing structure.

Under 18 Coach for the South East Region


British Eventing currently have a vacancy for a Regional Under 18 Coach for the South East Region. This role is an exciting opportunity for a BE Accredited Coach to be involved in one of British Eventing's biggest and most influential Youth Programmes.
