CIC2* European Championship boost from Owl Financial

As the CIC2* European Eventing Championships get underway in Tongeren, Belgium, this weekend, British Eventing are delighted to welcome Owl Financial as title sponsors of the British CIC2* squad.

Owl Financial is a UK-wide advice business, that's focused on helping people secure the right level of protection cover. Advisers at Owl are highly trained and work within strict guidelines to ensure that the advice and recommended products, such as income and critical illness protection, are appropriate for their customer’s needs.

Patrick McKenna, Sales Director for Owl Financial, commented: “After years of protecting many families and individuals, we are delighted to be able to support the equestrian industry. We are keen to reach out and make more people aware of the value and importance of protection and the range of protection products we can advise on.

“Year after year, thousands of clients across the UK benefit from accident, sickness and life cover which has been arranged through Owl Financial. It’s an exciting time for the equestrian industry and Owl Financial is pleased to support British Eventing by sponsoring the 2017 British CIC 2* European Championship Team.”

Hosted in Tongeren, Belgium from 27th to 30th July, this bi-annual event has given many British riders, who are moving up the ranks, fantastic experience of riding on a team and exposure to a Championship environment.
Chief d’Equipe, Peter Buist, commented; “It's great to have the support of Owl Financial for the team and we look forward to an exciting partnership. We participate in a high risk sport and Owl Financial can help by advising on financial protection packages that can provide peace of mind, including accident and sickness cover - a unique company for a unique team.”

The CIC2* European Championship format sees a squad of six first start with a ‘team dressage’ where all six complete a dressage test simultaneously in the arena before each undertaking an individual test. This is then followed by the cross country and final show jumping phase. There have been several riders on previous CIC2* Championship teams who have gone on to carve successful careers in eventing, including the highest place Brit at the 2017 Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials, Rosalind Canter, Nations Cup regular, Jodie Amos, and 2013 BE Mark Todd Bridging the Gap Scholarship winner, Franky Reid-Warrilow.
