These bi-annual championships provide a unique eventing format; the team, consisting of six members rather than the traditional four, first compete in a ‘team dressage’ test, where all six perform a prescribed test in a 20 x 60 arena together under the command of the Chef d'Equipe. This is then followed by an individual dressage test, the cross country and finally the show jumping phase.
Horse or riders on the CIC2* European Championship squad will not have competed at a CCI3* or CICO3* event in the two years prior to the championship and never completed a CCI4*, a European or World Championship or Olympic Games at any time.
