Squad named for the 2017 CIC2* European Eventing Championships

British Eventing are pleased to announce the combinations selected to represent Great Britain in the CIC2* European Eventing Championships taking place in Tongeren, Belgium, from 27 to 30 July 2017.

The combinations, in alphabetical order are:

Simon Ashworth, 53 from Cheshire, and his own 11 year old gelding Sunny III

Steve Garrod, 35 from Leicestershire, with Ms Teresa Camm, Miss Izzy Laurence and his own eight year old gelding Ufonzo

Nicky Hill, 25 from Worcestershire, on her own nine year old gelding MGH Bingo Boy

Victoria Leabeater, 20 from Hampshire, and her own 14 year old mare Dolces E

Indiana Limpus, 27 from West Sussex, with Mrs Caroline Perry’s 11 year old gelding Bronze Dandylion

Lauren Mclusky, 25 from East Sussex, on Home Farm Equestrian’s 12 year old gelding Ballycreen Milord

Jack Pinkney, 24 from Oxfordshire, and Mr Austin O’Connor’s nine year old gelding LB Liberator

Sharon Polding, 45 from Kent, with her own 10 year old mare Findonfirecracker

These bi-annual championships provide a unique eventing format; the team, consisting of six members rather than the traditional four, first compete in a ‘team dressage’ test, where all six perform a prescribed test in a 20 x 60 arena together under the command of the Chef d'Equipe. This is then followed by an individual dressage test, the cross country and finally the show jumping phase.

Horse or riders on the CIC2* European Championship squad will not have competed at a CCI3* or CICO3* event in the two years prior to the championship and never completed a CCI4*, a European or World Championship or Olympic Games at any time. More information on the CIC2* European Eventing Championships can be found HERE.
