Coaching Support for BE80(T) competitors

With the popularity of the BE80(T) class growing year on year, with over 90 British Eventing fixtures now hosting BE80(T) classes compared with nine in the pilot year (2008), BE took the opportunity to gain feedback from riders competing at this level last season.

The research from this class, which is run over fences at 80cms high, showed that riders wanted the BE Accredited Coach that specifically supports BE80(T) riders to be more clearly identifiable and be based in a consistent area at each event.

Riders in the survey also told us that they found the cross country course walk and warming up in the show jumping collecting ring to be the coaching input they valued the most.

So, in response to the feedback, BE are pleased to confirm that the BE80(T) Coach dedicated to the classes will now be wearing a high viz tabard emblazoned with ‘Airowear BE80(T) Coach’ and that these coaches will continue to conduct cross country course walks and basing themselves in the show jumping collecting ring at each event when not walking the course, making it easy for the riders to spot them.

For those who have taken advantage of the BE80(T) coaching support previously will notice that there will is now one coach per class rather than the two previously available; this is reflected by the fact that the number of classes have grown significantly in the last nine years since the BE80(T) concept was launched.

Course Walks

Organisers are requested to post details of course walks/names of the BE80(T) Coach at their event on their website and social media channels as well as in their secretary’s office at the event.

Find out more about what to expect from the BE80(T) classes on www.britisheventing.com/BE80T.

These coaches are there to help the BE80(T) competitors - please do make use of them as much as you can. This is a free service funded by British Eventing Charitable Foundation and also supported by Airowear.
