BE Accredited Coach receives UKCC Level 4 qualification

British Eventing Accredited Coach Debbie Melville has recently been presented with her UKCC Level 4 coaching qualification, and makes Debbie one of a group of just nine equestrian coaches to obtain the accolade in 2016/17.

This group of coaches is only the third cohort to have completed the two-year qualification, which includes a Postgraduate Diploma from The University of Gloucestershire, and further highlights Debbie’s incredible achievement.

The BHSI and Pony Club Coach received her UKCC Level 4 certificate at the recent Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials from British Equestrian Federation (BEF) Chief Executive Clare Salmon. The Level 4 qualification puts participants through a rigorous programme that requires visionary and knowledgeable decision makers, displaying exceptional communication skills, behaviours and the highest professional and ethical standards. Coaches were expected to advance their own development; lead cutting-edge programmes and make a positive impact on performance and behaviour.

The level 4 qualification recognises high performing coaches working in a focussed environment and specialising in at a given level of performance. The industry recognises that informed and confident coaches are key to inspiring participation at all levels. These coaches will bring expertise in growing areas of participation and talent development and will be helping to share this with other coaches.

As one programme concludes, another group of eight coaches from around the UK have embarked on the level next level four programme.
