New Under 18 Coach for North Wales & West Midlands

British Eventing is delighted to welcome Dag Albert into the role of Under 18 Coach for the North Wales & West Midlands region, joining current under 18 coaches Richard Carruthers and Jeanette Brakewell.

BE Accredited Coach, Dag, brings with him over 35 years of eventing experience, from competing at the Youth European Championships to Senior World, European and Olympic level for Sweden. Based in Great Britain for 25 years, Dag has combined his top level eventing with producing event horses and coaching riders of all levels and was also the Assistant Coach to the Swedish Young Riders from 2003 to 2004.

Now based in Staffordshire, the four star rider has competed several times at both Badminton and Burghley Horse Trials as well as three World and eight European Championships and two Olympic Games.

The BE Under 18 Programme runs alongside the 12 – 21 Training Programme giving riders a series of training and competitive opportunities for those who are aiming for the BE Under 18 Regional Team Championships, hosted at Frickley Park in July. Dag will be supporting under 18 riders in the North Wales & West Midlands region to provide fun and engaging coaching and help to identify potential combinations for the Regional Team Championships in the summer.

Riders do not need to be registered on an Under 18 Programme, or be a BE member, to attend regional 12-21 training, however if wishing to compete in the BE under 18 classes and be eligible for the BE Under 18 Regional Team Championships at Frickley Park riders will need to register on the appropriate programme - either the BE100 u18 and/or Novice u18 in their region.

Registering onto the programme through the BE website will allow riders to compete in BE100u18 and/or Nu18 classes, the results from which the Regional Under 18 coordinators use when selecting their teams for the BE Under 18 Regional Team Championships.

More information on the Under 18 Programme and Under 18 Regional Team Championships can be found HERE. 12-21 training dates can be found HERE.
