Bicton International Horse Trials in April 2017 will see the unveiling of the new Martin Collins Enterprises all-weather arena.

Bicton International Press Release.

The team at Bicton decided to replace the existing Webb Grass Arena and install a brand new 70m x 60m Martin Collins All-Weather arena to offer competitors and their horses a much improved facility for competing and riding on the whole year round.

It will provide an additional competition arena for the BD and BS shows as well as being a warm up arena for the multi day show jumping shows. During the winter months Bicton plan to set up a cross country track on the all-weather surface to allow for the growing popularity in arena eventing as well as cross country schooling.

The essential groundworks and installation of the new Martin Collins surface are being carried out by the team at Bicton, with the assistance of the operations manager from Martin Collins.

Competitors will be delighted that they can warm up and compete on a stable surface that is environmentally friendly and proven to perform. It will also be of benefit to the West Counties Veterinary practice that is opening at Bicton and has kindly sponsored the arena. Clients will be able to bring their horses to the practice for routine or involved investigations knowing that if they need a safe surface to have their horse assessed on that they have one to hand.

Bicton Arena Manager and former CCI4* event rider Helen West commented “We are delighted to be working with Martin Collins Enterprises, whose proven track record for quality, durability and performance, speaks for itself. The additional all-weather arena at Bicton Arena will be a huge asset for us, and enable us to host top-level competition across all disciplines. Martin Collins understands the needs of competition horses at each level and the varying demands placed on arenas which are used for multi-disciplines.”
