BE welcome new names to the Youth Programme

Following the final BE Board meeting of 2016 we are pleased to announce updates to our Youth Programme personnel.

Alex Colquhoun and Darrell Scaife have been confirmed to continue as the Chair of Selectors for the GB Young Rider and Junior Championship teams respectively for 2017 as we welcome Jill Barker as the new Chair of Selectors for the Pony squad. Taking over from Gary Parsonage who stepped down after the 2016 European Championships for Ponies, Jill is the current Chair of the National School Equestrian Association, who provide intra and inter-schools competitions for team and individual riders.

Tim Booth and Peter ‘Spike’ Milligan continue as team vets for the Pony and Junior squads and, following the retirement of long-term Young Rider vet Mark Lucey at the end of 2016, Ali Butler will take up the position of veterinarian for the Young Rider team. Team coach Emma Fisher remains in post for the Young Riders in 2017 as do Caroline Moore, Junior coach, and Jonquil Hemming, Pony coach.

The panel of Selectors for each squad are as follows:

Young Rider

  • Sarah Bullen
  • Sue Bagley
  • Frances Hay-Smith

Junior

  • Ginnie Keen
  • Tessa Mackenzie-Green
  • Frances Hay-Smith
  • Sally Taylor
