BEF riders visit NAF 19 Dec 13

Top riders go behind the scenes at NAF

British Equestrian Federation visit to NAF HQ

Natural Animal Feeds (NAF), Official Suppliers to the British Equestrian Team, were delighted to host a BEF instigated visit to their premises on 10th December 2013 by members of the Start and Potential Eventing and Dressage Squads.

The programme included a tour of the manufacturing plant, which surprised and impressed riders and co-ordinators alike, as they witnessed the cleanliness and attention to detail employed throughout the entire manufacturing process.

The visitors, including Eventers, Laura Collett and Tom McEwen, and British Dressage riders, Hannah Biggs and Zoe Sleigh, were both interested and very impressed in what Dr Sara Matthews, NAF’s resident Chemist had to say. She described the Quality Control systems and the lengths the company must go to in order to ensure all products are safe for competition use and meeting the demanding accreditation criteria.

Following the tour, informal presentations were given by one of Eventing's team vets, Peter Milligan, and by Lorna George of NAF, who is responsible for looking after the needs of all the British Team Riders.

At the end of her visit, Zoe Sleigh commented, “We had a great time, NAF really are impressive in everything they do which gives us great confidence in using their products. I think we are all going away with a greater understanding and appreciation of the responsibilities we have as riders to employ best practice on our yards at home to ensure the supplements we use are not contaminated once opened and being fed to the horses.

"I have always known NAF products are good and comply with the FEI Clean Sport regulations, but I now realise they are even better than I thought!”
