British Eventing announces positive additions to the 2014 Scottish and Northern region's calendar

Following feedback gathered from a recent survey carried out by British Eventing in the region, two new venues have been added and we are delighted to welcome back Brechin to the 2014 Eventing calendar.

New Intermediate sections have been added at both Burgie (26-27 April) and Belsay (31-1 May) and Burgham (29-30 March and 26-27 July) has added an Advanced class following a request from members for more competitions at these levels. Burgham has also added CIC2* and CIC3* classes, major additions to the Northern calendar.

Additional international competition has been added to Hopetoun’s timetable (26 -29 June). The Bede team will be hosting a CCI1*, CCI2*, CIC1*, CIC2* and CIC3* at the breath-taking Edinburgh venue.

Floors Castle (16 - 19 May) has added some exciting classes to their popular fixture in the form of a new CIC* and CIC** class. The new organising committee will host three days of competition and look forward to unveiling their new courses designed by the renowned Ian Stark.

The call for more events in Central and Northern Scotland has been answered with the addition of two fixtures at new venue Dalkeith (19-20 April and 19-20 July), offering BE80(T), BE90, BE100 and Novice sections at both fixtures. Dalkeith Country Estate near Edinburgh has kindly stepped in to host the popular Central Scotland Horse Trials following their departure from Scone Palace in 2012. Warwick Hall (3-4 May) has opened up their magnificent River Eden lined parkland to stage BE80(T), BE90, BE100 and Novice sections. The Cumbria venue boasts sandy old turf, traditional parkland and brand new cross country courses.

The return of popular Brechin (11 May) to the calendar will offer competitors additional BE90, BE100 and Novice sections. This event is brilliantly located between Dundee and Aberdeen, just a stone’s throw from the A90.
