Event Information

CLASSES AND FEES

CIC3* Dressage will take place on Friday & Saturday. Those prepared to do Friday dressage are less likely to be balloted. If entries demand it we may need to run some dressage on Thursday but will try to avoid this.

CIC1* - All dressage will take place on Friday; XC and SJ on Saturday.

X-C will be the final discipline in all classes. 

CIC3* & CIC1* horses and riders must be qualified as per FEI Rules. The Organisers reserve the right to transfer eligible horses from the Advanced to the CIC or vice-versa. Competitors will be notified and may in these circumstances withdraw and receive a full refund of entry fee.

A veterinary examination will take place before Dressage for CIC1* and CIC3* where your passport will need to be shown.

All horses must be in possession of an FEI Passport for the CIC3*. The CIC1*, if resident outside the UK, also need an FEI passport (Article 137 of FEI General Regulations).

*Competitors in International Classes Only - Please note in addition to your entry fee at the time of entry you will be charged an extra fee of £16.00 for 1* Competitors and £22.00 for 3* Competitors.  This is charged by the FEI for the Worldwide Equine & Human Anti-Doping Program.  This fee will be refunded in full if your entry is withdrawn. 

ENTRIES

Entry fees include VAT. VAT Reg No 215952994. Please make cheques payable to {CHATSWORTH HOUSE ENTERPRISES LTD}. Please enclose separate 22cm x 11cm (DL size) SELF SEAL SAE for each horse. Separate cheques are required for each horse (with horse's name on back).
INTERNET entries are preferred on http://www.bdwp.co.uk.
OVERSEAS entries please note that no entry will be accepted without the entry fee. NO RECORDED OR SPECIAL DELIVERY entries.
STABLING - please refer to separate stabling section below.

REFUND POLICY - No refund after ballot date unless replaced (Rule 4.11).  If the event is oversubscribed a wait list will be held.
STARTING TIMES are available between 18:00 and 19:00 on May 10 for all classes on 07802 534837 or by preference, from the website (www.bdwp.co.uk/cha) from 18.00 also on May 10.  If you require similar times to another competitor, please ensure that the entries are posted in the same envelope and entry forms refer to each other.
Starting Fees include a programme and VAT.
Starting Fees payable on collection of numbers (cash preferred please).  Numbers will NOT be handed out until the start fee is paid. 

STABLING

Limited onsite stabling available in Woodhouse barns/new stables. £85 for 1 night, £125 for 2 nights and £150 for 3 or more nights inc VAT.

Electric hook ups are available at £70 inc VAT which must be paid with entry.

Please pay with entry and book before Ballot Date to avoid disappointment.

No refunds for cancelled stabling after Ballot Date unless replaced.

Some local stabling is available – please contact the Show Office (info@chatsworthhorsetrials.co.uk) for information. In case of abandonment a full refund of stabling fees will be given.

Liability for each horse lies with its carer once stabling has been accepted and horse placed within the structure.

QUALIFIERS/SPECIAL CLASSES

The D & H Chatsworth International Horse Trials are part of the Event Rider Masters series. Those wishing to enter ERM section should state so in ‘special requests’ when entering CIC 3*. At ballot date the top 36 FEI ranked riders entered will be selected for the ERM section according to ERM rules. 4 wild cards will then be selected. The Draw will take place for dressage at a time tbc.   Total Prize Pot £50,000: 1st £16,000, 2nd £12,000, 3rd £8,000, 4th £6,000, 5th £3,000, 6th £2,000, 7th £1,000, 8th £900, 9th £600, 10th £500  Full details and rules can be found at www.eventridermasters.tv 

' The Dodson & Horrell Ducal Challenge’, whereby any rider who can win the CIC** at Floors Castle and subsequently, in the same weekend, win a CIC*** at Chatsworth International Horse Trials will be awarded a bonus prize of £500.

PRIZES

CIC3* Dodson & Horrell Challenge: Prizes in ratio of one to every four starters with the Chatsworth Trophy going to the winner.

CIC1*: Prizes in ratio of one to every four starters.

Advanced and Novice: Prizes in ratio of one to every six starters.

Further details on prize money fund will be available on the website. Archant Life is giving section winners a subscription for one year to their appropriate life magazine. There will be additional prizes in all classes. Rosettes to 10th in all classes.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

All courses run over permanent grassland in Chatsworth Park incorporating many traditional features and will run in the same direction as 2016. There will be some new fences and the national tracks will be a slightly modified version of the FEI ones. A great deal of work will be done to ensure the best possible going.  The Advanced and CIC are designed as a good preparation for forthcoming three day events.

ALL TERRAIN vehicles/motorbikes/golf carts are not permitted.

DOGS must be kept on leads. Fines for anyone ignoring this are likely to be made and will be given to our official Charity.

ENTRANCE POLICY - BE Organisers/Officials Car passes will admit 2 people. BE Membership cards do not give admission to the event. 2 vehicle passes and 3 people admission passes per entry will be sent. 

OWNERS - Dodson & Horrell Limited are again generously sponsoring an Owner's Breakfast from 8-10.30am on Friday and Saturday in their hospitality unit. There will also be a separate owners facility at the event.

MEMBERS  - badges available for Ringside Area available.  See www.chatsworth.org/horse-trials.

CARAVAN PARK - limited amount of availability although we plan to expand this. Please apply to Event Co-ordinator for further details.

PHOTOGRAPHY An accredited photographer will be taking photographs/video footage for Chatsworth marketing purposes. If you have any issues with this, please let us know prior to the event.

BICYCLES - recommended - Lorry park is approximately 500m from main arena.

SHUTTLES will be operating between lorry park and main arena as well as ALONG the main driveway.

Chatsworth is 8 miles north of Matlock off the B6012. It is 16 miles from M1 junction 29, signposted via Chesterfield. 30 miles from M6 junction 19. Grid reference SK261702.
