Event Information


QUALIFICATIONS - See BE RuleBook and FEI Rules for Eventing. 
CCI1, 2 and 3* to follow usual 3DE timetable of dressage Thurs/Fri, XC Sat and SJ Sun. CIC3* to run Sat dressage, Sun am SJ and Sun pm XC. For CIC3*ERM Class, see Event Riders Masters website for entry criteria.  Note: Provisional - subject to change at the Organisers discretion and depending on entries.
PASSPORTS & Competitors Licenses - Please refer to Rule Book.

Competitors - Please note in addition to your entry fee at the time of entry you will be charged an extra fee of £16.00 (1* & 2*) and £22.00 (3*).  This is charged by the FEI for the Worldwide Equine & Human Anti-Doping Program.  This fee will be refunded in full if your entry is withdrawn.

INTERNET entries will be accepted on Entries must be made on the official BE 3DE entry form or over internet. Entry fees include VAT. VAT Reg No 658 331 327. For full entry terms please see FEI Schedule on  Internet entries must be paid online at time of entry, cheques will only be accepted for postal entries. Please make cheques payable to BLAIR CASTLE ESTATE LTD. Please write horse name on back of each cheque.

ERM entries - please clearly state if you specifically DO NOT wish to be included in the ERM ballot.
WITHDRAWALS by 20/08/2017 12:00 PM by telephoning 01738 880245 or emailing (All withdrawals must be confirmed in writing). REFUND POLICY - 100% refund for withdrawals received in writing by ballot date. 50% refund will be made for withdrawals between ballot date and 6 August. Any entry replaced from a wait list will be refunded minus £25. Special requests regarding day or time of dressage must be made with entry.STARTING TIMES will be available after 1st horse inspection from the Stable Manager or website.
SUBMISSION OF ENTRY indicates that the competitor gives the absolute right and permission for any photograph and/or film, video or TV footage taken of himself and horse competing in the Event to be used and published in any media whatsoever for editorial purposes, press information or advertising by or on behalf of the Event and/or the Event's Official Sponsors.


Horses MUST use the stabling provided which will be available from 12:00 noon Tues 22 Aug.
COST of stabling is £140.00 incl. VAT, including two bales of shavings.
BOOKING - Stabling must be booked and paid for with entries. Stabling cancelled before ballot date will be eligible for refund, no stabling refunds after 8 August unless stables can be filled. Stabling for non-competing horses must be booked and paid for at the time of entry. No refunds will be given for cancellation of non competing horse stabling after 8 August. All non competing horses must hold a current vaccination certificate.
The Event reserves the right to re-let stabling for any withdrawn horse. Competitors may not sub-let stables.
PASSPORTS - Horses will not be allowed to enter the Event stables until they and their passports/certificates have been checked by a veterinary surgeon.
The erection of pens or paddocks in the Lorry Park or Stable Area is forbidden. No horses, ponies or companion animals to be kept in lorries.

ELECTRICAL HOOKUPS - electrical hook ups are available at £90 per hookup - this is for a single vehicle connection with no sharing - this will be monitored.


CIC3* is the Scottish Open Championships. Affiliated SJ Friday-Sunday. Various showing classes throughout the week incl. working hunter on Thurs.

Prize money may increase subject to sponsorship
NB. Prizes will be awarded in the ratio of one prize to every four starters.
UK Tax: Prize money won by overseas riders may be subject to deduction of UK Tax in accordance with Inland Revenue Regulations.
All classes have a large number of Special Prizes and Trophies. All completing riders will receive a rosette.


Blair’s hills require a fit horse and rider but the courses have been changed significantly in recent years to incorporate flatter areas of the parkland. There will be significant route changes made for every class and new fences will be added by course designer Alec Lochore. The tracks run over free-draining parkland turf which will be equivated if necessary. The tracks are well built and presented with a mixture of permanent and portable obstacles. Feature fences include two large water complexes.



ACCOMMODATION/CARAVANS - Caravans for personal use of competitors only will be allowed in Horse Box Park. Loos and showers will be available on site.  Owners may stay in the Event Caravan Park FOC on application - see website for details. Alternatively there is the adjacent Blair Castle Caravan Park. CATERING on site from Wed 23 Aug. Licensed bar and catering marquee will offer meals, snacks, fruit etc. All riders & owners have access to the members' enclosure.

SPECIAL ACTIVITIES - Golf competition on The Blair Atholl Golf Course on Thursday and a Distillery Tour on Friday for owners/supporters and generally those associated with Competitiors - further details to be available nearer the time. 
COUNTRY FAIR - Displays (Sat & Sun) and over 200 tradestands.

ENTRANCE POLICY - competitors will be issued with one pass. Each registered owner will be issued with one pass, with a maximum of 3 owners passes per horse-riders please phone if more required in the case of syndicates. BE Members passes will NOT admit to the event.
